Segments

LivePinch provides powerful segmenation engine. This document describes briefly what is supported and how to effectively use it.

A segment is is a set of rules that select a subset of profiles that are stored in the database. The flexible rule builder allows you select profiles based on

  • Any System Attribute associated with the profile
  • Any Custom Attribute associated with the profile
  • Any Technographical Attribute automatically tracked with the profile
  • Any System Event Eg ( Email Open, iOS Push Clicked … ) and any other technographical details with those events
  • Any Application Event and Attributes within the event

You can also combine these rules with AND and OR conjunctions to form more complicated rule structures. Rules can be constructed to based on Occurance, Non Occurance of a specific event. Rules can be set to count the number of occurrances, or rules can be set on aggregated value of any of the attributes.

LivePinch also supports segment inheritance, with this can create new segments by including or excluding rules from already available segments.

Creating a Segment

To create a segment you start by giving your segment a name, and and optional description.
